Cafe Del Mar:
A place where you go to relax and forget about your day to day life, where it’s all about being in the moment and soaking up the ocean views, sand and sun whilst being served your hearts desires by the most hands on staff.
Cafe Del Mar is an international beach club situated in 12 different destinations across the world – it is in 8 countries and 3 continents. Founded in 1980 in Ibiza this beach club has grown to be a very strong lifestyle brand with a great atmosphere, amazing food, enjoyable entertainment and impeccable service – I’d say it is the most convenient way of enjoying the beach so dress accordingly.
Locations:
Ibiza, Malta, Barcelona, Tenerife, Torre del Mar, Mamaia (Romania), Baku (Azerbaijan), Sydney, Phuket, Pattaya (Thailand), Teresina (Brazil) and Puerto Pata (Dominican Republic) for now. We went to the one in Phuket situated in a extremely relaxed Kamala Beach just to the north of Patong Beach – 17.4km to Phuket International Airport and 23 minutes from good old Bangla road. I cannot wait to visit the ones in Europe and South America.
Facilities:
Beautiful changing rooms, restaurant – Mediterranean menu, bar with all sorts of drinks, transport, table service, sun-beds at a steeper price and are more exclusive, pool, wifi, a dance floor and live performances – oh and most importantly fresh air and the best views of the ocean.
Some days we eat salads and go to the gym, somedays we eat pizza and refuse to workout all week, some days we sleep in but the best days are those spent running on the beach whilst sipping on cocktails and having the perfect balance between partying and being home before 10pm – that’s what makes beach clubs the perfect place to go. After seeing @Mslelo_b and @missshozi posting about this place on their social media pages I was very quick to add it on our itinerary.
How much to Budget:
We spent around 2800 Baht (R1400) and our 20minute Tuk Tuk drive from Patong beach was 400 Baht (R200) after long negotiations. R1000 for the afternoon will ensure you enjoy yourself comfortably. Both credit cards and Thai Bahts are accepted as form of payment.
When we arrived we were greeted with the most welcoming HELLO – What I commend Thailand for is just how important it is to them to treat people equally, there was no point where I felt like I was being undermined or mistreated because of my race or possible social class and places like these tend to do that. I really fell in love with everything.
When on holiday food is very important to me, I really don’t mind gaining those extra kg’s – whilst catching sunsets, anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with them and this place is the perfect mixture of both.
This is the perfect place to ball on a budget. Comfort and convenient – unforgettable afternoon of drinks, GOOOOOOD food, latin dancing, quality service and a whole fire show. Hardest place to leave.
ENTRY FEE: NONE BUT A MINIMUM SPEND ON DAYBEDS APPLIES
Bye for now – Don’t forget to stay mindful, grateful and always positive.
