Beyoncé: 5 good reasons why I am talking about her and why you should be too

Beyoncé Knowles Carter

A lot of good and a lot of bad happened in 2017. Most would categorize Beyoncé’s style as one of the bad things that happened that year, lol. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum, saying her style gave 2017 something good to write home about.

Beyoncé styleVery colourful, very bold, very boss chick like, and very refreshing. The mother of three’s style has previously been described as underwhelming and maybe socially unacceptable – I think in 2017 she definitely changed that making her THAT girl right now. On a personal note, I see fashion and styling as a form of art, you must have an eye for it and execute that vision with ease which is what B’s stylist has done.

What Marni Senofonte her head stylist has done with the King is amazing and it’s a good representation of modern street art, again this is how I’ve chosen to see this era of B. She has us talking about Beyoncé and her style, now when has that ever happened? Maybe since that black long back short front sexy dress she wore to the Obsessed movie premiere, that everyone tried to duplicate at their matric dance – I’m purposely choosing to overlook her Met gala, Grammy and performance looks, those need their own post. B is experimenting with silhouettes, patterns and colours. At first I was like hmmm she’s trying too hard three looks later I was hooked and found a way to appreciate her overall attitude and so should everyone.

In 2017 we saw B in every brand from TopShop to Tom ford and her confidence was just overflowing. Her Ivy Park Athleisure line hasn’t disappointed either – even our very own Babes Wodumo wears it like it’s school uniform. She’s making the industry uncomfortable in the most positive way in true Beyoncé fashion. It’s exciting. Since style and Beyoncé have never been spoken about in the same breath – she’s making me want to risk it all – go the unpredictable route. Very Sasha fierce of her. She’s a mantra, she’s a quote that I’m trying to follow in 2018. From statement T’s to figure-hugging body-con dresses which look like they were made only for her, I love it a lot.

This is a different energy and I feel like I’m getting to know Beyoncé through her current style which proves that the idea of fashion being a way of expressing one’s self and fashion being a whole language is true. She is art and she’s THAT piece that’s not meant to be understood by many.

For me, fashion is all about having FUNNNN and she looks like she’s having the time of her life. I’m of the opinion that once you overcome something you thought would break you, you become this carefree – I am lead. I can’t emphasize how important it is for me to see someone whose problems aren’t written all over their face. Hard times have a tendency of dimming our light if we allow them to, it may not be that deep but this is my interpretation. Fashion is an avenue where there’s no need to overthink it and I’m not getting that vibe at all.

Clothing has always been a tool for change a tool for transformation so I appreciate this. Each outfit conveys a different message but each one is a statement reminding all of us that she’s a BOSS babe, she has a whole new energy and power. I could try to rock these looks but without the attitude being portrayed here it’ll all mean nothing. Now, when I don’t see her on my timeline I go through withdrawals.

I am really in love with her confused or should I say Funky outfits that go from casual chic to over the top, to feminine, never minimal with the perfect hair and I ain’t sorry. She’s telling us to keep an open mind, and to not put her in a box. Therefore what everyone regards as the ridiculously horrendous style I’m like I can’t wait to see tomorrows look because Wow B. She’s making looking like a hot mess iconic and I love it lol. Bring on the contradictions, honey keep those poses coming – I’m inspired. Her books have something for everyone whether you agree or not.

Beyoncé can do no wrong. Definitely itching for a new wardrobe, when it comes to my own personal style, this year I am definitely taking more risks. This blond-haired goddess killed it last year and I am excited to see what she brings in 2018 because it made no sense how fine she looked. This may have been a difficult conversation but we had to have it.

Cheers for now lovelies and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comment section.

I think she’s in a phase of he life of not caring of what people think of her anymore. Everything is out in the open, that’s why she served us Lemonade. Loved this piece:)

My exact thoughts, this woman is above it ALL. I want to be as care free as her in 2017.
      Thank you

      xx
