Four Day Style Diary: Nizole Mbaleki

A few weeks back, I took some time to chat to a beautiful young lady who has grown into a stylish, confident and creative individual. In the ten years I have known her, her style has been truly admirable, versatile and so fresh – I think this is someone you should totally look out for. I was happy to have her here to share a few of her style tips and how clothing makes her feel because well, why not.

In this post, you will get to see four of the looks she compiled for the average person looking to create affordable but stylish everyday looks. She is outstanding and prides herself in ensuring that she is someone who you can look up to when it comes to clean effortless style. Refreshing is how I would describe her overall look – her looks are an indication of how carefully she selected her items from the fashion rich Cape Town, South Africa.

My name is Nizole Mbaleki, I’m a Cape Town-based second-year student at Vega School of Brand Leadership, studying towards obtaining a degree in Strategic Brand Communication. I’ve always had an eye for fashion from a young age, I used to enjoy playing dress-up with my mom’s clothes, and I think from doing that I learnt how to put together clothes that complement each other well. I believe that style is subjective; it’s your form of self-expression. You don’t have to be draped in the latest trends to be considered stylish anymore, and I’m glad we are moving away from that perception. The best word of advice when it comes to fashion; enjoy yourself.

Looking good every day on campus might be a bit of a mission for us, students, as we often have too much work on our hands that sometimes looking presentable is the last thing on our minds, the most important thing when it comes to day to day campus looks is comfort. I’ll be sharing with you guys some of my budget-friendly day to day looks.

Monday:
My Monday’s are usually pretty busy, be it an early morning test or back to back classes which is why going for a relaxed look works best for me.

Tuesday:
I’m already happy Monday is over, so already I begin my day in good spirits (:
I enjoy putting together all-black outfits because they give you a spotless look, but sometimes I like bringing in a little colour to enhance the look, the kimono I’m wearing is a dress but who makes the rules?

Wednesday:
A pair of well fitted black jeans is a must-have as a student, it’s easy to dress up or dress down. I decided to pair mine with my illustrated T-shirt that I’m currently obsessed with. The shoes work well in breaking down the all-black element of this look this applies to the jacket too.

Thursday:
My favourite day of the week (:
This look is perfect for a half-day on campus as it can easily cross over to a cute casual outfit for an afternoon at the mall, around town or sun-downers
