Apple Cider Vinegar
Hey guys! I’M BACK and I will be sharing the three ways I use apple cider vinegar (ACV) to my benefit. ACV is an antiseptic and an antibacterial, therefore prevents as well as heals skin infections and conditions like acne and eczema. Apple cider vinegar has amazing health benefits and I have happily made it a prominent part of my skin care, inner health and my hair care routine.
I discovered Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and its benefits back in 2014 when I began my health and wellness journey – I found it beneficial in my daily / weekly / monthly and at the end of each year, yearly routine. By now I’m sure most of you are using it on at least one of the three benefits I have mentioned below and have also seen its benefits.
The brand of ACV I use is well-known to many natural hair, skin enthusiasts and health nuts whom I have followed for the past four years. I just love how it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, and is beneficial to both women and men therefore having it in your home is indeed advised. As you may all know by now I am obsessed with the way Kourtney Kardashian lives her life so it was only right to note that she also had it in her rather healthy pantry home. I have seen the incredible changes in my life – so I believe in it and I think you should definitely try it out for yourselves.
(When the Bragg brand is unavailable I go for the one from Woolworths food or Nature’s choice)
Hair care:
I love ACV for my hair as it eliminates dandruff making it an itchy scalp reliever. I have always struggled with dandruff which is caused by a bacteria called Bottle Bacillus. “The bacteria clogs hair follicles allowing dry crusts to form that itch and flake.” For a simple home treatment for dandruff and itchy scalp, I apply full strength ACV to the scalp, rub in, and leave on for half hour to an hour before washing my hair on wash day. I replace shampoo with it and it cleans both my hair and scalp leaving it refreshed since it gets rid of product build up. What I love most about it is it keeps my hair shiny, prevents breakage and doesn’t strip my hair off of its natural oils. It also helps hold in moisture especially if you add drops of an essential oil of your choice – As you all know I’m obsessed with moisture filled hair. After this I condition my hair for good results. When is comes to hair care, DIY is life in the same breathe we are all different so you can only know if it works by trying out different tips.
Skin care:
In my daily skin care routine, I use Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner. A toner completes, “the cleansing of your skin—removing the dust, pollution, and impurities that can still be lingering after washing with a cleanser.” It’s a hidden gem because it is perfect for many skin types, it can also lighten sun and age spots, and can improve acne and acne scars. I have seen a change in my complexion and breakouts are a myth today other than the week my menstrual cycle is on. Apple cider vinegar is great for freshening, removing both excess oils and make up.
Use daily and you’ll be fresh-faced all the time, I care about my skin so I don’t mind going the distance to find what works best and ACV has proven to be very trustworthy.
How I use it:
NB: Always do a patch test on your skin to see how your skin responds as well as store in a cool place
- I first wash my face using a face cleanser and warm water.
2. I mix ACV in a glass of water and wash my face and neck. Dilute it A LOT
3. Saturating cotton pads with it, I use the pad on my face and neck (Close your eyes tightly).
3. I then rinse it with water and pat dry before I moisturize.
4. I do this every evening.
5: Once a week I make a mask – mixing water, a teaspoon of ACV and Bentonite clay applying it on my face until I feel a tingling sensation, I then wash it off gently and follow with my evening routine.
Recommended
For sensitive skin: Mix ACV with 4 parts water,
For normal/dry skin: Mix ACV with 2 parts water,
For oily skin: Mix ACV with 1 part water
Weight loss / maintenance:
When is comes to weight loss and maintaining I follow Kourtney Kardashian’s lifestyle very closely. Her transformation in the past two years has been inspiring and on her App she shares some very valuable information on the benefits of ACV for health purposes. Back in 2014 I didn’t know the dosage to take so her App has really helped me with that knowledge because now I know and it has become a part of my morning routine daily.
Kourtney states that she drinks ACV because it helps her stop needing / wanting sugar because sugar doesn’t sustain her. She drinks two tablespoons twice a day first thing in the morning before her workout and in the evening. She says this routine helps reduce the visibility of her cellulite because ACV helps her avoid sugar and instead it helps absorb all the nutrients in her daily meals which are all very healthy. I have since copied this and my weight hasn’t fluctuated in a long time. It doesn’t taste too good but the benefits outweigh that. When it comes to consumption I think you should consult your doctor, otherwise if you’re cleared It’s never too late to make this your routine. So when people talk about coconut oil being life, I litrally laugh because I believe it’s ACV or am I comparing apples and pears ? lol oh well.

Wow I learnt so much from this post and I wanna start adding ACV to my hair regime. Quick question though, how often do you cleanse with it or have you completely replaced your shampoo with it?
Great Post
Thank you 😊
I don’t use shampoo at all now it really makes my hair dry but I’m looking to start using Black Soap as a cleanser. Start using ACV twice a month
Already have a bottle of ACV in my cupboard. Definitely going to try the face wash tomorrow morning!
Do you store yours in the fridge?
